The Soft Shades – Interview

Cover_Art small

1 – When did you first get into music? What or who Inspired you?

I started to learn accordion at age of 6 and graduated from musical school, but real passion to music came later. The music, which inspired me to learn how to play guitar was power metal bands Blind Guardian and Helloween.

2 – Who did you grow up listening to, and does that impact on what you create now?

The music I have listened when grew up changed during the years, but most of the time I listen metal and rock. As I stated before, I have started to listen power metal like Blind Guardian, Helloween, Grave Digger and great old rock bands – Deep Purple and Pink Floyd. During the next several years I have listened a big variety of metal bands, from death and black metal underground bands to successful ‘mainstream’ bands like Korn and Disturbed. I believe, that all music that you really like and listen to a lot of time impacts your own art, but my top influences are In Flames, Meshuggah and Paradise Lost.

3 – How long have you been playing/writing?

I’m playing and writing music for 15 years now.

4 – How often do you play live (include details and links for any upcoming gigs)?

I have played live gigs with my bands in a past, but now I’m focused on studio work and don’t play live.

5 – What has been your favourite moment in music?

Actually, there was a lot of great moments in performing and writing music. My favorite moment I think is the moment when I am finished song/album with which I’m satisfied.

Ankit Love

ankit3b&w1 – When did you first get into music? What or who Inspired you?
Well, music got into me first, there was not much I could do, the piper’s sound captivated me and before I knew it, I was consumed in this mad art of sound and time!

2 – Who did you grow up listening to, and does that impact on what you create now?
Nobody, I never listened to people, teachers, grown ups, not because I was being rebel or something, but I was always floating in a day dream. I try and listen a lot more now to make up for lost inspiration.

3 – How long have you been playing/writing?
From the moment of conception, I was plotting my creations in the womb.

4 – How often do you play live (include details and links for any upcoming gigs)?
After I complete my second album then the Love will go live.

5 – What has been your favourite moment in music?
Inspiring a young girl in Canada, to make a shot by shot remake of my first music vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqy2EBV48aI
