Sertari – Interview

1 – When did you first get into music? What or who inspired you?
I grew up with some kids – The Kerwins – who were cousins with the punk band The Misfits. I got their “Bullet” ep and I was hooked.
2 – Who did you grow up listening to, and does that impact on what
you create now?

I grew up in the punk scene, and that energy is still in the music. Soon after, I discovered more complex songwriting via Bowie and Costello.
3 – How long have you been playing/writing?
I started writing songs at a very young age, and co-wrote a lot with my first band, The Fiendz. But I didn’t get serious about focusing on my own material until I left the Rosenbergs in 2003-ish.
4 – How often do you play live (include details and links for any
upcoming gigs)?

We played four shows in 2004.
5 – What has been your favourite moment in music?
Collaborating with Trevor Dunn on our album, “Bacteria.”
6 – Where is the best place to find you online?
