- When did you first get into music? What or who Inspired you?
I loved music since I was really young, it was all the sounds, melodies, rhythms and sonics that triggered something in me, and some how I unconsciously knew that I wanted to be a part of it. When I was four, a Kiss rock concert came on TV and that blew me away. The whole aspect of playing the living hell out of the guitar turned me on, that it is where it really started. I was always intrigued by song writing and to do that I needed an instrument and what more amazing of an instrument than the guitar. I Bought my first guitar when I was 16 and the rest is history.
My life experiences are my biggest inspiration. As for who inspired me there are many in the musical world and to name a few are: Frank Zappa, James Brown, Megadeth, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steve Vai, Jimi Hendrix, Rage Against The Machine, Soundgarden, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Miles Davis, The Police, Tom Waits and many more.
- Who did you grow up listening to, and does that impact on what you create now?
In my pre teen age I grew up listening to a lot of motown, james brown, earth wind & fire etc.. which was playing around the house and one day when during that period of my childhood(teens) I was introduced to Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Rage Against the Machine, The Chili Peppers and the whole grunge movement and that is where I started taking music a lot more seriously. All of that music had and still has a great impact on me, blending funk grooves with heavy elements of rock & roll and many other genres.
- How long have you been playing/writing?
I have been playing and writing for about 20 years
- How often do you play live (include details and links for any upcoming gigs)?
I perform live often wether with my band or as a session guitar player with other bands. I will be performing at the Desert Experiment IV in May 27. It is a big concert where I will be collaborating with many regional artists on stage from different genres of music primarily rock and I will be performing my new material for the upcoming album as a special set during the festival.
- What has been your favourite moment in music?
There are so many… But I guess my favorite is when I opened up for Sting and got to hang out with him, what an amazing human being!
