Big Lenny B

1 – When did you first get into music? What or who Inspired you?

As a child really, my first recollection is of my mother doing housework whilst singing along to ABBA, The Carpenters, Elvis, Tom Jones and the like, so music has always been around me.

2 – Who did you grow up listening to, and does that impact on what you create now?

My first tape (What’s that everyone cries) was the Jungle Book Soundtrack, I played it until it stretched…(its a generation thing) But I was very young then, the first music I bought for myself was The Jam’s A Town Called malice. Later into my teens, when everyone was listening to Breakdance, I was listening to the likes of Buddy Holly, Simon and Garfunkle, The Rolling Stones as an example, I then as I started meeting guys at school that were into music and wanting to be in bands I discovered Pink Floyd, Genesis, ACDC, Zeppelin, Hendrix etc.

3 – How long have you been playing/writing?

I have been playing bass now for lets say over 20 years and writing seriously for about the same.

4 – How often do you play live (include details and links for any upcoming gigs)?

I used to be a lot more active than of late, unfortunately everything has changed so much with venues over the last 10 years or so, it makes it difficult for a band to play for a fair amount of time and for money. Original artists have it tough out there. So I am currently Booking a tour for the late spring and through the summer, keep an eye open.

5 – What has been your favourite moment in music?

There has been a few, but my favourite time was when I was working with a band Clacket Lane, we were supporting The Feeling at a Uni gig, we were playing so tight together and kinda knew what each other was thinking and for the first time I experienced four of us, so naturally playing, so zoned into the moment, then the audience got it and woo!, its the best feeling in the world.

6 – Where is the best place to find you online?

Facebook is always a favourite and twitter, I would also point out that it is me on there, I don’t like people doing things for me, so come and say hi! or @biglennyb
