1 – When did you first get into music? What or who inspired you?
I used to sit outside my brothers bedroom secretly listening to him playing his records. I loved the sound guitars made and nagged my dad until he bought me my first guitar. I was only 10. My first song – ‘Wild Thing’ by the Troggs.
2 – Who did you grow up listening to, and does that impact on what you create now?
I grew up listening to so many like the Beatles/ ELO, then moved on to Zeppelin/ Guns n’ Roses, then Jazz in music college to people like George Benson. I think they have all influenced me and definitely impact on what I create now.
3 – How long have you been playing/writing?
I’ve been writing my own songs since I was 12. I used an old eight-track recorder back then. I’ll have to dig them out at some point. Would be funny. You never know there could be some hidden gems.
4 – How often do you play live (include details and links for any upcoming gigs)?
I’m gigging most nights. I’ve played most places, been around the world from South America to Japan. From 2 or 3 people in workmens halls to theatres of 800+. I love it. There’s nothing better than getting the crowd going with a few rockin’ numbers.
The first gig of the tour will be the album launch on Wednesday 28th November 2015 at the Glanfa Stage, Cardiff Millennium Centre. For the others- see TOUR DATES on the Website.
5 – What has been your favourite moment in music?
Hearing my music being played on BBC Radio 2 was exciting. I definitely want more of that. I’ve also played with Ronan Keating and Robbie Williams which was cool. But my number 1 gig has to be my Dad’s local pub. All the family and friends go there. Up close and personal. Very emotional and bags of fun.
6 – Where is the best place to find you online?
Markruebery.com has all the iinks to twitter, facebook etc..
